Stereobus Recording opened its doors for business in February, 2016. Located in the heart of Winnipeg, MB, Canada, it is a premiere destination to capture great quality of sound and a vibe that will bring out the best of any musician.
The studio is Winnipeg’s longest running commercial recording facility. Now in it’s third phase of ownership, it was originally commissioned for Wayne Finucan Productions in 1976, became Channels Audio and Post Production in 1991 and now exists as Stereobus Recording, home to Producer & Engineer, Paul Yee.
The facility boasts a Westlake inspired design of cedar and stone, shag carpet, overbuilt walls and ceilings, lead lined oak double sound lock doors, all for superior isolation room to room.
The main 21x18 “A” control room is spacious and comfortable with couch seating. It features a huge triple pane glass window providing excellent sight lines into the 24x18 main tracking room which also has a cedar vocal booth with sliding glass doors.
The secondary "B" studio serves as additional isolation rooms, rehearsal space or adjacent recording. It also has a glass window for sight lines between rooms. The "B" studio is a bright sounding 15x11 cedar strip room with a focused 17x15 “B” control room.

We pride ourself in capturing live performances with the use of vintage analogue effects. This has led to a fantastic collection of unique pieces of gear well suited to this 70s studio. We offer a varied collection of modern and vintage equipment, including instruments, amplifiers etc.
The 40+ year lifespan of the studio has led to the recording of many greats along the way, such as The Guess Who, the Crash Test Dummies, Fred Penner (the Cat Came Back) and even Christina Aguilera had made a stop to record a vocal track over the years. The building was also home to an abundance of film and television work for decades, recording audio for Sesame Street, the Canadian National Film Board, K-Tel compilations, among others. This place is rich with history, and the story now continues...
Paul Yee and his partner Geneviève Levasseur have given fresh life to this rare gem from the pinnacle of 1970s studio design. Combined with Paul's undeniable ear and experience, the magic comes through in the projects.
